Description:

AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY HAS OPENED UP TO WORK WITHIN THE NEWLY FORMED DIRECTORATE OF PERI-OPERATIVE CARE WHICH INCLUDES MAIN THEATRES, MATERNITY THEATRES, PRE-OPERATIVE ASSESSMENT, OUTPATIENTS, PHLEBOTOMY, ACUTE PAIN AND PLASTIC SURGERY.

The post holder will work within the wider Peri-operative Care Directorate. Working alongside an operational team of including Senior Directorate Manager, Assistant Directorate Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing and Lead Nurses the post holder will work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe timely and effective service delivery.

This post is suited to anyone wanting to take a first step into operational management and will provide opportunities to gain skills in different areas.

  • This post will support the safe, timely and effective delivery of peri-operative care services on the Oldham site.
  • To assist the directorate in the development and implementation of policy, business planning, business objectives and service developments.
  • Assist service leads in meeting performance management requirements of the services, including, RTT, Patient Flow, Sickness & Absence, quality, and activity targets.
  • To support planned elective recovery with management of capacity and demand within pre-operative assessment.
  • To support the outpatient transformation programme.
  • To undertake specific project work as identified by the directorate team.
  • To support the Division of Surgery in managing patient flow

Main duties of the job

  • Produce Business Plans as and when required, chasing these up to timescales and deadlines.
  • Assist the Senior Directorate Manager with the management of the RTT and support the achievement of the RTT.
  • Attend RTT performance meetings with directorate and clinical teams when required.
  • To support the tracking of patients within pre-operative assessment with escalation to the senior management team.
  • Liaise with the Senior Directorate Manager where additional capacity is required for patients to be seen within appropriate timescales. Early escalation of potential capacity problems. Escalate issues which may impede compliance to the Senior Directorate manager in a timely manner and collaboratively work up recovery plans.
  • To support the Directorate in the monitoring of the theatre and outpatient capacity and utilisation of sessions
  • To plan and monitor the use of the theatre lists to ensure maximum utilisation.
  • To work closely with the Speciality teams to manage capacity and demand within pre-operative assessment.
  • Assist in the investigation of complaints/incidents/PALS.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
