The International Film Festival Berlin (IFB) is the city’s most important cultural event as both one of the most prestigious occasions in the international film industry and the world’s largest audience festival.
The directors of the Berlin International Film Festival are looking for an inspiring and motivating leader with excellent communication skills to fill the following position as soon as possible.

- Extensive management experience in the international film and television market
- A nuanced understanding of the complex needs of different industry sectors and their interaction
- A strong interest in the importance of festivals and markets for the development of film culture
- High integrity when working with sellers and buyers at the highest levels of the film industry
- Experience in implementing extensive projects and events
- Proven ability to ensure ambitious budget targets
- Excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to develop human resources
- Proven commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Language skills in German and English at level C2 according to GER, other languages desirable
Responsibilities:
- Management of the European Film Market as one of the most important film markets in the world with ambitious financial and strategic goals
- Ensuring smooth processes within the European Film Market, adhering to financial planning and ensuring the satisfaction of the format’s partners
- Ensuring teams work in safe, inclusive ways, taking environmental impacts into account
- Close collaboration with the communications, press and sponsorship departments on public relations issues and coordination of collaboration with corporate sponsors
- Data-driven development of strategies and decision-making processes
- Further development of the joint medium and long-term strategies for Berlinale Pro, building on extensive networking in the film industry as well as relevant experience in culture and business
- Leading the EFM team and guiding the leaders of Berlinale Pro in developing partnerships within the industry and with funders who add value to the Berlinale
- Active communication with key partners in the German film industry on how Berlinale Pro can improve the development of the domestic industry
- Cultivating a collegial atmosphere that enables all Berlinale Pro teams to work cooperatively and efficiently both within the individual initiatives and with all Berlinale employees
- Representation of the EFM and, where required, the Berlinale Pro Initiatives, among others, in the press and media, representation of the Berlinale at relevant industry panels, juries and events
- Control of the EFM budget and support of the individual Berlinale Pro financial planning to ensure cost effectiveness
- Analysis of processes, systems and structures of your own teams to optimize work processes
- Supporting the management team in organizational change processes. Collaboration with government actors and industry experts at the highest level
- Negotiating contracts and extensions with suppliers
