Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Police Support Services Department is seeking to hire one regular full-time Disclosure Reviewer for the RCMP Detachment. In this position, you will be engaging in moderately complex clerical work, handling requests for information from police files.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will bring several years of relevant office administration experience, ideally within a police or legal setting, with an excellent attention to detail and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to type at a net speed of 50 words per minute.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
You will:
- Respond to information requests from various agencies and the public, review police files to determine information that can be disclosed in compliance with policy and legislation, prepare related correspondence, and exchange information with external law enforcement and related agencies (ICBC, CBSA, Ministries etc)
- Following RCMP standards and best practices, and working within a variety of RCMP applications (i.e. PRIME, CPIC, JUSTIN), the incumbent is responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy in all aspects of the creation, maintenance, and final disclosure of complex investigative materials in accordance with legislated disclosure regulations,
- Prepare and maintain a variety of files, forms, receipts, statistics, reports and other material.
- Provide in-house guidance, cross-training, and information pertaining to Disclosure to RCMP and staff as required
- Communicate directly with the individuals or agencies requesting information to explain policies, procedures and legislation, operate various RCMP computer applications, and handle invoices/cash.
