EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic skills and ability to learn as needed.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Keeps the kitchen running smoothly by ensuring that work areas, food service equipment, and utensils are consistently cleaned and organized.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleans, organizes, and sanitizes all food service equipment, work surfaces, utensils, and all work areas including refrigerators, dish machine, floors, mats and drains according to cleaning schedule and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintains equipment temperature logs.
  • Assists cooks with preparation of meals as needed.
  • Sets up and breaks down employee meals.
  • Segregates, sorts, removes trash and recyclables and disposes them in designated containers.
  • Maintains inventory on chemicals (15 C).
  • Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and reports and/or corrects potential/actual hazards.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with ACS’s mission and core values.

While performing their essential functions, employees are occasionally exposed to the following conditions:

  • Air-conditioned office environment
  • Indoors without air conditioning
  • Outdoors—all types of weatherHazardous material
