Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and execute inbound load appointments at various vendors throughout Western Canada and Ontario for Drivers, and 3pl carriers on their way to the Dealer Support Centre.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety guidelines and legislation when assigning dispatches to validate and maximize driver hours of service and load deliveries.
  • Utilize the Transportation, Planning & Execution (TP&E) WMS system to record pickups and maintain pertinent route information.
  • Ensures inbound gate appointments are assigned for all incoming trailers, loaded or empty.
  • Responsible to contact carriers and arrange quotes to schedule third party backhaul operations.
  • Update and effectively communicate any changes or issues with backhaul inquiries. Collaborate with other internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Serve as the backup to the Dispatch Supervisor, as required.
  • Provide KPI’s for reporting as required.
  • Receive and enter pickups from vendors by phone and email. Verify / confirm trip reports and pickups within the Transportation system (TMS).
  • Be available and on call 24 hours/ 7 days per week for anomalies and emergencies
