The Atlas Cloud Security Architect will lead the design and development of Azure security architecture for the Atlas platform, the foundation for the future of PTC’s cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with PTC’s Atlas R&D team to establish and maintain security standards across PTC’s Atlas cloud environments. They will also be tasked with and communicate security prerequisites to PTC’s product development teams and delivery groups while also fostering alignment with other security disciplines across the enterprise. The overarching objective is to mitigate risks while facilitating safe, prompt, and efficient business operations. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for cloud security, architecture, and operations to contribute to the forefront of enterprise software security in a global technology enterprise that is leading the way.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving, with the ability to address complex cloud security challenges strategically and tactically.
  • Experience evaluating, designing, implementing, optimizing, and documenting various security technologies and processes.
  • Experience performing threat modeling and conducting design reviews to assess security implications and requirements of new technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise application software, encompassing architecture, development support and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Controls
  • Strong communication skills to effectively influence and promote enhanced security practices within the Atlas teams.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of collaborating across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing secure cloud computing solutions; alternatively, a higher-level degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Azure Government, including ITAR, FedRAMP or similar compliance levels.
  • Previous experience in an enterprise SaaS company.
  • Holds at least one industry security certification (CISSP, SSCP, CISA, etc.)

Responsibilities:

This role entails a hands-on technical approach, involving architecture, design and implementation:

  • Develop architecture for security in PTC’s Atlas cloud services.
  • Define and prototype security mechanisms contributing to threat model development for Atlas and its associated applications.
  • Assess potential attack vectors throughout the product lifecycle and mitigate them by architecting mechanisms, establishing internal policies, and implementing monitoring systems.
  • Remain current with industry advancements to introduce innovate methods for securing our cloud offerings, aligning with industry best practices and standards.
  • Advocate for and implement robust security practices within the Atlas organization, including but not limited to threat modeling, secure code reviews, fuzzing & penetration testing, and promotion of Hackathon activities.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and develop and track plans to address them.
  • Provide security reviews of Atlas platform architecture designs and proposals.
  • Participate with other PTC risk and compliance teams to ensure alignment and evolution of security practices and processes to proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Engage regularly with PTC internal customers to address security concerns and gather insights into customer security preferences and requirements.
