POSITION SUMMARY

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for People Development, Operations Excellence, Sales Growth, Profit Growth, and our Customer’s experience (Hospitality). The DM recruits, coaches and develops the best managers in the industry to operate and execute flawless restaurant operations within a multi-unit district. District Managers challenge each General Manager (GM) and store management team to set goals, measure results, be accountable, and celebrate wins. District Managers serve those who serve our customers by providing necessary resources and removing barriers; they are energetic leaders capable of directing the growth of their district – they are go-getters in the truest sense. Organized, open-minded, self-starters, creative and with an extroverted personality, District Managers take and give

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Internal Candidates must complete required training and development activities within Donatos Training Roadmap

Previous Experience

  • 3-5 years in similar multi-unit role
  • 2 years GM experience preferred Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential
  • functions of this position, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Spends majority of time in restaurants (typically 70% of work hours) developing and coaching team members.
  • Ensures operations excellence; reviews and analyzes data to make improvements within District, overall operations, and underperforming stores.
  • Utilizes strong analytical skills to assess situations, determine root cause, initiate plan of action and follow through to resolve.
  • Demonstrates and enforces standard operating policies and procedures as defined in the Operations Manual.
  • Responsible for the safe operation and safety results within their district.
  • Properly executes, enforces, and manages food safety and sanitation requirements; seeks out and eliminates potential food safety violations and unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Executes sales plans and promotions and ensures hospitality in restaurants.
  • Communicates effectively and routinely to market leadership.
  • Assumes accountability for District’s P & L results and delegates responsibility among team members for achieving financial results; manages to Profit.
  • Monitors sales volumes and adjusts projections accurately.
  • Engages the local community, ensuring local store marketing is reflective; builds strong community relationships.
  • Acts as a positive influence in the community, creating goodwill in our neighborhoods.
  • Is a People Builder, coaching and developing teams to achieve restaurant and personal development goals.
  • Is a Team Builder, develops a strong and caring district GM management team that sees the “bigger” picture (beyond their own store), acting with flexibility and focused on overall District success.
  • Conducts one on one meetings with directly reporting GMs and hosts district meetings to align, plan and execute at the store level.
  • Writes meaningful performance reviews that lead to GM growth and development.
  • Monitors Associate growth plans to Manager level through training and development.
  • Uses the Restaurant Visit Report form and other tools to document restaurant visits and provide GMs with feedback, direction, and positive recognition.
  • Partners locally and attracts and recruits new managers who will move the organization forward.
  • Promotes and maintains a Family environment that promotes high, positive energy, encourages learning, and offers career development.
  • Treats district associates as respected guests, ensuring an exceptional work culture.
  • Ensures that policies and processes are being followed by completing store, people, and financial audits quarterly and coaching in personal and team meeting settings.
