Description:
Responsibilities:
The main secretary/receptionist at the Murray City School District Office performing a variety of general
reception, secretarial and clerical duties as needed to expedite the delivery of administrative services and
carry out the day-to-day operations of the district office, including assisting the HR and Public Information
Office. Operate telephone answering system with multi-line capacity; receive incoming phone calls, answer
questions; provide factual information; provide walk-in and calling public information regarding services,
programs, schedules, events including Non-Resident applications; educate general public regarding district
boundaries; provide and assist the public with various forms and applications; maintain calendar of activities
on the website; troubleshoot district informational audio/visual monitor in the lobby; monitor and control
meeting room schedules using Google, receive and distribute incoming mail; general backup for out-going
mail duties; operate personal computer to compose and type correspondence; assure and expedite
distribution of administrative materials to teachers and ESP personnel; monitor inventory and order district
office supplies; determine reorder points and assure timely stocking of office inventory and supplies;
monitor operational status of district office equipment; maintain reception area making sure the area is
organized and professional looking; oversee MCSD vehicle scheduling and making sure all employee’s
Defensive Driver’s Certificates are up to date, maintain and update all Safety Drill report info for MCSD
schools; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent, plus two (2) years of specialized training through professional
workshops seminars, vocation training or college courses; and two years of full time secretarial or clerical
experience; one (1) year of which preferred to have been within the public school system. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Bi-lingual preferred.
Job Specificatons: Personal, amiable personality that works well with the public and other staff; good communication,
management and organizational skills; be able to sit for long periods of time; able to lift 30 lbs. and the
ability to learn new skills quickly.
Salary:
Pay Grade 10 – Full time contract position based on 239 day contract with health insurance,
retirement and leave benefits
2024-25 ESP Salary Schedule – To Be Determined
