School District No. 35 (Langley) is looking for a talented District Principal of Modern Languages, ELL & Settlement Workers in Schools to help lead those teams to work collaboratively to maintain a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teacher Regulation Branch certification or eligibility
Master of Education preferred, or equivalent post-secondary graduate training.
Strong Modern Languages and ELL background, with practical experience.
Experience working with French Immersion programs.
Fluency in French speaking preferred.
Superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exemplary organizational and planning skills.
Experience in managing system change.

Responsibilities:

Work as a team with the Director of Instruction and the Instructional Services team.
Work in collaboration with all Inclusion District Principals.
Work in partnership with the ISP Department.
Supervise ELL itinerant staff and manage caseloads.
Support planning and implementation of instructional practices that respond to the needs of ELL learners.
Determine school-based student support allocation in cooperation with the Director of Instruction.
Liaise with parents, school and district staff, Ministry of Education, support agencies, and organizations in support of program areas.
Participate in the ELL and Modern Language Consortiums.
Organize DELF opportunities for French Immersion students.
Organize Language Challenge exam opportunities for students.
Allocate resources to schools.
Support redesigned curriculum implementation.
Support teacher professional learning opportunities.
Facilitate professional learning for teachers.
Liaise with Administrators of French Immersion programs and secondary ELL programs.
Write funding reports and grant applications.
Manage budgets and funding for ELL, French Immersion, Core French and SWIS.
Lead the Ministry of Education’s Audit Compliance process for ELL/Languages.
Provide guidance and advice in the development and support of immigrant and refugee initiatives and programs.
Collaborate with SWIS Manager
Manage IRCC/SWIS Call for Proposals, claims and reports.
