Description:

This is an exciting time to join the newly formed Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as one of our Divisional Director of Operations.
Successful applicants will be pivotal to the development of the clinical divisions and the overall operating model of the organisation to deliver Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust strategic plan. Working closely with Executive and Deputy Executive colleagues, divisional leadership teams and corporate colleagues you will share our passion for delivering 5 Star Patient Care.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of a range of key national and local performance indicators associated with their divisions care delivery principles.
Assessment tasks will include a stakeholder panel, interview and psychometric tests.
Assessment centre date: 11th June 2024
Interview date: 12th June 2024
You must be available to attend both dates.
To be responsible for the effective day to day running of all Trust services both clinical and non-clinical.
Effective site management on a daily basis, ensuring appropriate patient flow to achieve national and local health care standards.
Ensure close working relationships are developed across all clinical areas and support services promoting joint working.
Lead the divisional leadership team in the planning of future service developments and to ensure the resources and facilities for the division meet the needs of the service, implementing change programmes as necessary.
Effectively manage budgets to agreed outturn plans, ensuring year-on-year cost improvements and value for money are achieved.
Contribute to the translation of the MWL strategies and corporate objectives into achievement operational plans as part of the overall planning process.
Promote and foster a culture of equal opportunities through the development of services that reduce health inequalities and working practices that eradicate discrimination.
The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.
From 1 st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Trust delivers acute hospital care, intermediate care, community, and primary care services to a population of over 600,000 people with a combined workforce of around 9000 dedicated and skilled staff from 17 locations including Whiston, Southport & Formby, St Helens, Ormskirk and Newton hospitals.
The Trust provides regional services for burns, plastic surgery and spinal injuries to more than 4 million people across Mersey and West Lancashire, Cheshire, the Isle of Man and North Wales.
