Description:

The Divisional Quality & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing compliance with quality and safety activities across the division, providing expert advice, data and analysis to support directorates to deliver on their responsibilities. The post holder will work with the divisional triumvirate to ensure that any areas of poor compliance and assurance with agreed quality and safety metrics are identified and managed by directorate teams.

The Divisional Quality & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing compliance with quality and safety activities across the division, providing expert advice, data and analysis to support directorates to deliver on their responsibilities. The post holder will work with the divisional triumvirate to ensure that any areas of poor compliance and assurance with agreed quality and safety metrics are identified and managed by directorate teams. The post holder will attend the divisional quality and safety committees and ensure a consistent approach to managing quality and safety work streams/activities is embedded and maintained by directorate triumvirates within that division.
The post holder will sit within the medical directors’ office (MDO) and will obtain ongoing assurance that the directorate triumvirates are managing quality and safety within their areas of responsibility in a coordinated, systematic, transparent, and focused way.
The Divisional Quality & Safety Manager will provide comprehensive support to trained learning response leads who are undertaking patient safety incident investigations (PSII’s) within the division. The post holder will undertake PSII training but will not undertake investigations independently as they are not clinical members of staff rather they will be able to support from a management and administrative perspective.
