Doctor on board (AIDA) (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Quality Medical Care: You will be responsible for providing medical care to both our valued guests and dedicated crew members on board.
  • Outpatient Consultation: Conduct outpatient consultations, deliver care for patients in the inpatient hospital area, and be available for on-call service to address the needs of guests and crew members.
  • Leadership in Resuscitation: Lead the resuscitation team, ensuring that our onboard medical response is prompt and effective.
  • Ships’ Hospital Management: Assume medical and administrative responsibility for the ship’s hospital.
  • Captain’s Medical Advisor: Act as the first point of contact for the captain concerning medical and hygiene matters, contributing to the overall safety and well-being of everyone on board.
  • Crew Training: Provide regular first-aid training to the crew, ensuring the smooth organization and technical operation of the hospital in collaboration with the landside Medical Department.
  • Reporting: Participate in ship-side reporting related to medical, legal, and organizational issues.

Your Profile:

  • Medical Expertise (with a min. of 3 years of practice): You should hold training as a specialist in general medicine, surgery, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or anaesthesia.
  • Emergency Care Experience (with a min. of 3 years of practice): Possess experience in acute care and emergency medicine, capable of handling critical situations with confidence and skill.
  • Additional Skills: A radiation protection certificate is required, and knowledge of ultrasound diagnostics is desirable.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead a resuscitation team and stay current with emergency medicine practices.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and German, along with confident MS Office skills, is essential.
  • Personal Attributes: Exhibit a strong sense of responsibility, sensitivity, and the ability to work independently. Multicultural awareness is highly valued.
