SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Alumni and Student Programming

  • Explores alumni program / service trends and recommends new programs, services and revenue-generating programs, on and off campus to engage alumni.
  • Works with the Lambton College Student Administrative Council (SAC) to develop activities that will ensure student involvement with the Alumni Association prior to graduation.
  • Responsible for project management of a diverse selection of programs.

Premiers Awards

  • Assumes responsibility for identifying potential alumni candidates for the Premier’s Awards by cultivating and stewarding relationships with key stakeholder groups such as faculty members and professional staff within the college, as well as external community partners to solicit and facilitate nominations.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the promotion, nomination, selection and presentation for the award process.

Communicates with nominees throughout the nomination process to cultivate strong relationships with high profile alumni.

Mentorship Program

  • Develops, implements, coordinates and continuously improves the mentorship program, which is a formal partnership with Ten Thousand Coffees, and funded by RBC. The program supports domestic and international students at Lambton, Cestar and Queens College, and utilizes mentors from around the globe.
  • Regularly assesses effectiveness of strategies to ensure meeting the needs of target groups.
  • Recruits keynote speakers for virtual symposia, and markets and promotes the program to both students and mentors.

Affinity Partners

  • Collaborate and engages key stakeholders in the development of in depth marketing plans that will increase overall participation rate.
  • Regularly analyzes performance trends of the program using internal / external statistical data to establish targeted marketing campaigns

Where are you now campaign

  • Develops and executes a campaign to entice alumni to update their contact information to support the Alumni Associations goal of enhancing the alumni database.
  • Markets and promotes the campaign to internal and external audiences using various online and social media platforms to increase potential reach.

Lambton College International Student Office

  • Ensures the efficient and effective project management of activities related to the MOU’s and develops solutions to overcome challenges as they arise.
  • Acts as the primary alumni contact for post graduate surveys across all three campuses.
  • Manages all aspects of MOU budgets and identifies cost savings measures where possible.
  • Creates new MOU’s on an annual basis for review by Associate Director/ Dean.

Event Management

  • Ensures the efficient and effective project management of activities and special events including but not limited to: Convocation (Sarnia, Toronto and Mississauga), Bus Trips, College Open Houses, Homecoming, and supports Foundation events including Corks, Caps and Cuisine, Lions Night @ Sting and the Annual Golf Tournament.

Acts as the primary Alumni Relations contact to alumni and community members participating in and or attending the events.

  • Coordinates all logistical requirements including catering, entertainment, contracting services and location set up, securing appropriates internal or external facilities, purchasing and or renting all necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates with vendors concerning the provision of services including getting an agreement on prices, executing contracts and overseeing activities to ensure services are fulfilled.
  • Ensures timelines and budgets are created and implemented efficiently.
  • Works with marketing as appropriate to prepare event related materials and ensures timely production and distribution.
  • Ensures all programs, services, events and activities promote the Alumni brand effectively, and standards of quality are retained throughout the event processes.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Maintains regular contact with Lambton College departments and works closely with campus and alumni groups, volunteers, and the Alumni Association in planning and implementing activities, services and programs of interest and benefit to Lambton College Alumni.
  • Ensures the Alumni Association is represented at appropriate celebrations, ceremonies and events.
  • Networks with other post-secondary alumni offices in developing and implementing activities, programs and services of benefit and interest to Lambton College alumni.
  • Acts a project manager to coordinates all aspects of events and programs including development and evaluation of communication and promotional materials, both print and digital.
  • Evaluates alumni and student events, activities and programs and completes summaries, including a budget report.

Co-op and Career Services / Employment Services

  • Develops and promotes marketing campaigns using statistical data to increase engagement and use of the department.
  • Partners with key internal stakeholders to assimilate and analyze their statistical findings to jointly develop and deliver plans.

Lambton College Website

  • Writes or arranges writing for all content for the Foundation to provide consistency and accuracy in public communications.

Social Media

  • Shares responsibility with the Foundation Coordinator in overseeing social media accounts, which include content creation, interacting with followers, answering questions, responding to messages, and aligning content with real- time marketing opportunities.
  • Develop social media strategies and campaigns that will encourage engagement that will raise the Alumni Association profile and maintain connections with followers across all social media platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other potential social platforms.

Administration

  • Develops an annual budget forecast for programming and events based upon cost history for presentation to the Associate Director.
  • Reviews and monitors budget expenditures.
  • Uses Raiser’s Edge and Live Alumni software to run queries, extract lists, export data and update records.
  • Presents program and event updates at the Foundation Board of Directors meetings.

Other responsibilities as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three-year post-secondary diploma/degree in Marketing, Event Management, Volunteer Management, Communications, Fundraising Development or related field is required;
  • Three years of recent related work experience in alumni development, donor engagement, marketing/communications, fundraising and event management;
  • Strong demonstrated written communication experience, specifically with respect to publications such as magazines, newsletters, press releases, and formal nomination applications;
  • Experience working with alumni and donors;
  • Solid understanding of alumni and donor relations;
  • Professional attitude, diplomacy, and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and alliances;
  • Knowledge and experience with various social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and SnapChat and LinkedIn;
  • Computer fluency in Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, database and email programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines, and actively deal with change and ambiguity;
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge an asset.
  • Strong relationship building skills, will the ability to influence.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets.
  • Negotiation skills.
