Description:
The drafting legal assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting clients with their estate and long-term care planning. In addition to providing services to both staff and clients, this role emphasizes a dedication to integrity and excellence.
Responsibilities encompass a range of tasks, such as prioritizing, managing, and successfully completing multiple assignments. Effective communication, characterized by courtesy and professionalism, is crucial when interacting with both clients and fellow staff members.

Responsibilities
- Perform records research online and at courthouses, including but not limited to researching deeds and gas leases.
- Record documents at the county courthouse as well as at the Department of State, IRS, the Office of Veteran’s Affairs, and the Department of Public Welfare.
- Draft and proofread legal documents and forms for accuracy and consistency, including but not limited to deeds, leases, wills, living wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and guardianships.
- Perform general operational tasks including but not limited to answering the phone and forwarding messages, copying, scanning, mailings, and postage, assisting drop-in clients, filing paperwork, handling voice mail messages, etc., all according to Firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree or some college is preferred
- Display excellent written, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to handle high-volume workloads
- History of being deadline-driven and extremely organized
- Maintain punctuality with all tasks and responsibilities
