Dredge/ Utility Operator- Syncrude

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Dredge Operator (Utility Operator) is responsible for the operations of the dredge on a tailings pond in a safe, productive, and efficient manner according to the scope of the project and the work being performed. The operator will also keep clean and maintain the equipment and comply with all policies and procedures in the operation and securement of the equipment.
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required.
• Valid class 5 license is required.
• Satisfactory 3 year drivers abstract
• CSTS 09/ OSSA/ BSO/ CSO is required.
• Candidates with Ground Disturbance are an asset.
• A basic knowledge of computers are an asset.
• 1-3 years of verifiable experience in an equipment operating role within an Oil Sands Mining, Civil Construction, or Earthworks environment is required.
• Experience required with various pieces of heavy equipment (Dozer, Excavator, Grader, Loader, Articulated Truck is an asset)
• Ability to speak, write and read English is required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  This is a full time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB on Syncrude Site.
  Shift schedule: 6/ 6 (3 days, 3 nights, 6 off- 12 hour shift)
  NOTE: Flight and Camp accommodation are NOT provided.
