Royal IHC’s Dredging Advisory Services (DAS) department is looking to expand its team of dredging advisors. As a Dredging Specialist DAS, you will work at the Dredging Advisory Services department of IHC Technology, based in Kinderdijk, Netherlands.
DAS is part of the Corporate Discipline Technology, the R&D and Innovation Centre of Royal IHC. DAS serves an advisory role in supporting the design process of a wide range of dredge installations. Being part of the DAS you play a key role in the selection of the proper dredge (mining) equipment and its corresponding operational requirements. This will be in close contact with IHC’s sales and design & estimation departments which enables you to work on innovative and challenging projects. As part of the advisory role, you will also partake in R&D related projects on hydraulic transportation and pump applications, both from a desk study, test environment in our laboratory and operational perspective.

You will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Dredge pump type selection and its corresponding drives
  • Dimensioning of dredge line components such as pipelines, nozzles and orifices
  • Loading time and production calculations
  • Prediction validation and measurement support at (sea) trials
  • Sales and customer support
  • Dredge (mining) related consultancy
  • Equipment advise on slurry transportation systems for dredge and mining equipment.
  • Review and evaluation with Technology colleagues and Design & Estimation colleagues.
  • Support in R&D related projects on hydraulic transportation and pump applications
  • Assistance during test trials in our laboratory and during operation

To do so, you will work in close collaboration with many business units within Royal IHC. Within the wide scope of dredging operations, you will make important choices in order to offer our customers optimal performance of their equipment that makes the difference.
Your Profile:

To be eligible for the position at Dredging Advisory Services, you must have:

  • a technical higher vocational (bachelor) or academic higher level (master) of education; preferably mechanical engineering, process engineering, civil engineering or mining
  • basic knowledge of hydraulic transport principles
  • experience in the dredging operation (not necessary, but desirable)
  • Soft skills (problem solving, communication, etc.).
  • Flexible, cooperative and independent mind-set.
  • A customer-oriented attitude.
  • Hard skills (like Matlab and Pyton, good communication skills, in both English and Dutch).
