Thiess is seeking experienced Drillers Offsider to join the Drill & Blast team to deliver high-quality solutions and results at Pembroke Resource’s new project in the Bowen Basin – the Olive Downs Complex.
Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

Working an 7/7 day/ night shift roster with the possibility of introducing night shift (additional night rates apply) and reporting through to the Drill Controller and Drill & Blast Supervisor, the key responsibilities in this role will include:

• Assisting the Driller in the setup, operation, and maintenance of drilling rigs
• Prepare and handle drilling tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and maintain cleanliness and organisation of drilling site
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist in the collection and recording of geological samples during drilling.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, reporting any issues promptly
• Manage the transportation and storage of drilling equipment and supplies
• Support the installation and removal of casing and other structural components and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Hot seat autonomous drills each shift
