ABOUT THE ROLE
Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technology Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Technology R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of groundbreaking technology that is revolutionizing the geothermal energy sector. As an EIT, you will work within a multidisciplinary international team to commercialize the world’s first closed-loop geothermal systems.
The ideal candidate will be a recent Engineering graduate (2021 or later) with a passion to learn, grow, and get in on the ground floor of ground-breaking technology.
Eavor™ is an Alberta-based tech company that has invented a new geothermal power generation technology that overcomes all the traditional roadblocks of geothermal. Our highly effective green power generation system, called Eavor-Loop™, is made with existing commercial technologies configured in a completely novel way. We use the most recent advances in drilling techniques and merge them with the latest heat to power generation technology to create the world’s first scalable, steady, and reliable source of green power. As a Drilling Technology EIT, you will have the opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking team, working on unique and innovative projects in a supportive and collaborative environment.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Working within a multidisciplinary international team within the Technology R&D department, you will use your technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to commercialize the world’s first closed-loop geothermal systems. The successful candidate will work on projects throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and there is ample potential for career growth and professional development in our rapidly expanding technology start-up. The team works on cutting-edge research and development activities, inventing and modifying tools and testing them at the lab and field scale to enable Eavor to drill hotter and deeper and maintain its competitive advantage.
This hybrid role is based in Calgary, Alberta, requiring local and international travel based on business needs.
SOME OF WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Support the development, testing, and implementation of drilling technologies, including Active Magnetic Ranging (AMR), insulated drill pipe and multi-lateral systems, for the Eavor-Loop™.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure the successful integration and deployment of these technologies.
- Assist in organizing and conducting field tests to validate the performance and reliability of the technologies.
- Learn and become a subject matter expert for these technologies, providing support to internal teams and external partners.
