Description:

SUMMARY

The Driver/Coordinator is responsible for the safe and legal operation of agency vehicles. The Driver /Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all aspects of choosing, planning, and carrying out consumer activities and outings. This position works closely with the Qualified Intellectual Disability Profession (QIDP) to ensure active treatment programming is occurring within the residential program. This position requires a high school diploma. The Driver/Coordinator reports to the Business Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

This position requires sufficient knowledge and skills to make the activities and outings safe and enjoyable for the consumers and to effectively train and monitor Direct Service Workers implementation of consumer programming. The individual must be able to maintain open communication with all levels of staff and external service vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing consumer activities and
  • Transport residents to and from assigned destination and assists them on and off the vehicles as
  • Assist with bathing, feeding, and changing res
  • Assist with getting residents ready for school and activity
  • Monitor the day room
  • Assist in purchasing items for selected activities
  • Training and guiding other workers as it relates to carrying out the activities
  • Participates in weekly briefings with department leaders and managers.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with all levels of staff, state personnel, advisory board, community groups, clients, and volunteers.
  • Conducts group classes by managing the activities appropriate to residents’ age and levels of functioning.
  • Reports and coordinates any necessary maintenance work on agency vehicles
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicles
  • Prepares all required records and reports
  • Assures that the vehicles are maintained in a safe manner
  • Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor
