WHAT WILL MY DAY LOOK LIKE?

As a Drupal Backend Developer within our Drupal department, you will be working as part of a team to build new capabilities for our clients. We have a formal engineering approach to software development that includes technical planning, feature branches, peer review of code and separate and dedicated environments with fully automated DevOps.

Your role will be to help design and code new capabilities in Drupal. As a team, we are looking to improve our ways of working continually and put time aside each week to ensure this happens. As a Backend Drupal developer, we are looking for someone who can write clean code that aligns with Drupal and PHP coding standards. We are continually striving to build future capability so an understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and code reuse will be key.

  • Writing PHP object-oriented code that aligns to Drupal standards
  • Good communicator with an ability to articulate technical issues to varied audiences.
  • Working within cross-functional teams (Design, User Experience, Development, Quality Assurance, Project Management)
  • Creating Drupal custom modules to extend capability in the Drupal CMS
  • Solving technical issues with programmed solutions
  • Working with feature branches as part of a development life cycle

KEY SKILLS & QAULITIES

  • Familiar with principles of modern technical architecture and enterprise architecture.
  • Proven track record developing Drupal 8/9/10 websites to an exceptional standard.
  • Experience of code-driven development using Drupal configuration management.
  • Docker, Git, Drush, using REST APIs, meeting Drupal coding standards.
  • Knowledge of measures contributing to security including how Drupal’s built-in features can help prevent malicious attacks.
  • Good understanding of Twig templates, HTML5, CSS preprocessing.
  • Familiar with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
