DSHS ESA CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT OFFICER 3
The Division of Child Support is currently seeking a lead Support Enforcement Officer to join our team at the Central Services Unit, located in Olympia.
In this role you will serve as the Department’s representative, making critical casework decisions, determining child support obligations, and providing support to lower-level staff that collects, establishes, and enforces child and medical support.
This position will have the opportunity to work in mail and payment processing as well as developing responsibilities into other program areas.

Note: This is a full-time position requiring an in-office presence with an opportunity for part-time telework, generally within 30-45 days.
Responsibilities:
- Train staff in all aspects of child support collections and enforcement, to include payment processing, mail processing, and Central Services related areas
- Review work and explain child support laws and procedures
- Audit work and workflow to meet Federal and State guidelines
- Make critical casework decisions such as initiating, preparing, signing, and serving administrative and legal support enforcement actions
- Establish Administrative Child Support Orders by researching and locating income information
- Analyze, interpret, and apply State, Tribal, Federal, and International laws pertaining to paternity determination
- Maintain technical expertise amidst constant changes in laws, policies, and procedures in order to be a resource for the team
- Negotiate debt repayment terms
- Calculate complex financial and medical child support obligations and arrearages
- Assist with developing and implementing training plans and performance management plans
- Act on behalf of the supervisor in their absence
