We are currently looking for an Duty Manager for our award-winning Shelter Hall venue! Hospitality is changing…. Change with us!
Shelter Hall is owned by Sessions – the record label for food. We find the most exciting talent in food, produce delicious hits (menus) and take them on tour to neighbourhoods across the country through our food halls, franchise sites and licensing models.
This role is based within our flagship landmark Food Hall on Brighton’s seafront! Shelter Hall is made up of 7 kitchens and 2 permanent bars split across 2 floors including private cocktail room (Skylark), with private dining and unbeatable outside space along with seasonal pop up bars.
Shelter Hall combines a fantastic choice of cuisines and beverages for our guests, to be either ordered through the Shelter Hall app and delivered to their table by our floor team, or at the counter/bar.

You’ll be joining a large management team of 8 people and during the summer, up to 100 staff members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Management experience in a high volume venue
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time - this is a large venue, you’ll do many steps!
- Strong people manager
- Friendly, positive attitude
- Confident speaking to new people
- Expert level of English language
- Right to work in the UK
Responsibilities:
- Work with the management team to ensure front of house and KP employees are exceeding guest expectations and always running the venue effectively.
- Manage a seasonal workforce which doubles in the warmer months.
- Show the team how it’s done – this is a hands on role where you will also be working the bar/floor.
- Form strong relationships with the different vendors who operate out of the venues as well as the internal floor and back of house teams
- Opening and closing the venue
- Work under/with a strong management team with strong communication
- Labour control - ensuring there is enough staff to cover busy shifts and labour is kept to a minimum on quiet days
- Keep close eye on maintenance and report any concerns/issues
- Keep close eye on cleanness of the venue
- Have knowledge and passion about food & drink
- Strong work ethic/willing to help out wherever needed
- Keep the team happy, performing and motivated
- Step in to solve any guest issues when most senior on shift
