Responsibilities:

As part of the Investment Risk Management Team, the Senior Risk Manager Digital Assets role requires the establishment of a sound risk management framework to support DWS’s digital asset activities. The Senior Risk Manager will establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain a robust control environment while supporting DWS’s growth objectives.

As an Senior Risk Manager you will (be):

  • Design and implement a framework to identify, assess and mitigate fiduciary risks associated with digital asset products (e.g., ETCs) and stablecoin, including issuance, redemption, liquidity management and market stability
  • Develop and implement robust risk monitoring mechanisms to track key risk indicators and early warning signals
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, finance, compliance and legal to implement effective risk management strategies and protocols
  • Develop risk management trainings to educate stakeholders on risks associated with digital asset solutions (e.g., stablecoins, tokenized funds and cryptocurrencies)

We are looking for

  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, mathematics or a related field
  • Proven experience in the fintech or cryptocurrency industry. Experience with stablecoin is a strong plus
  • Deep understanding of blockchain technology and digital/crypto asset markets, associated risks and regulatory requirements (e.g., MiCA)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess complex risks and develop pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Proficiency in data analysis and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau)
  • Proven experience in managing big data and automating processes
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German is a plus
