We are looking for two highly motivated and driven individuals to come and be part of the Early Years Development and Childcare Team as an Early Years Development and Childcare Officer, enabling the service to meet the statutory duties and legal processes in respect of; early education funding, childcare sufficiency and family information services. This is a business and administration role with a focus on data and finance.

Based within the Duke Street office, your role will include:

  • Administering early education funding payments ensuring they are accurate and not fraudulent.
  • Data collection and using data management software.
  • Setting-up new providers with a Provider Portal Account and ensuring all required start up documentation is completed.
  • Carrying out 2-year-old childcare funding eligibility checks, take up monitoring and tracking.
  • Carrying out 30-hours childcare eligibility confirmation.
  • Supporting the Team Leader to complete the childcare sufficiency assessment.
  • Monitoring the Ofsted feed and reporting any updates.
  • Ensuring providers complete all necessary data returns.
  • Offering information, advice and guidance to parents and carers via telephone, e-mail, in person and at events.
  • Managing the team inbox on a daily basis.
  • Support the wider Education functions as required to meet demands and to ensure statutory requirements are met.

To be successful, your attention to detail must be first class. You will need excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure our service levels are maintained. We also need your customer-focused nature to help build working relationships with our stakeholders and colleagues. You will also bring your data analysis and financial skills to the team to ensure the administrative output is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
