Description:
The Clinical Support Worker will provide evidence based intensive intervention to people with an Eating Disorder and their families/carers. The main role is in partnership with people with an ED, families and carers to assess, plan and implement evidence based psychoeducational interventions to promote recovery from eating disorders with a key focus being around prevention of Specialist Eating Disorder Unit (SEDU) admissions, reducing duration of admissions and successful discharges.
Working under the supervision of qualified staff, the post holder will provide invivo meal support in service users’ homes, virtually and in community settings across Bedfordshire and Luton with coaching and support for emotion regulation, body image, communication, motivation, goal setting and other areas related to this client group.
A key secondary role is in liaison and joint working with other professionals, especially members of the Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS), GPs, SEDUs and community mental health teams to maintain effective continuity of care and to widen awareness of the complexities involved in the management and treatment of eating disorders.
The post holder will work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team of the CEDS and further specific duties will be determined on the basis of skills and experience and operational service requirements, and may vary occasionally as service needs/priorities change.
