Description:
Salary range: The salary range for this position is CAD $25.86 - $25.86 / hour Detailed Overview:
Performs Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing and equipment maintenance. Assists Registered Technician or Technologist with stress testing and other related procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Explains procedures to prepare patients for ECG and related tests and answers related questions.
- Performs ECG testing by attachning electrodes to the patient andoperating equipment according to standard procedures.
- Under supervision of a Registered Technician or Technologist, performs duties such as operating ECG equipment during stress testing and related procedures and scanning recordings from equipment such as holter monitors and pacemakers.
- Performs related clerical duties such as filing, typing, booking appointments and answering telephones.
- Maintains equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as paper rolls, fuses and bulbs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
