Description:
SUMMARY:
Works with a team to model complex business problems and discover insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. You will need to be a " data utility player” and be prepared to be able to assist in data standardization and analysis opportunities, and aid in the build and implementation of data models.
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Experience using scientific methods to plan, design, conduct, and present data science projects to stakeholders
- Experience planning and executing a variety of projects and making recommendations requiring technical and administrative judgment
- Experience developing long- and short-term program plans, assessing resource utilization, initiating, or recommending new or revised processes and procedures
- Experience applying statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements and guidelines to analyze data, draw valid conclusions, formulate policy or procedures
- Experience applying data preparation methods, feature creation engineering, exploratory data analysis, model creation, and data visualization applied to advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
- Analytic platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), data visualization and data reporting tools, and scripting tools to conduct data science projects, as well as instruct others

Education & Experience:
- Bachelors in computer science, engineering, math, statistics, economics, or other quantitative discipline
- 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field (in addition to any graduate education).
- Analytics or Data Science experience with e-commerce companies.
- In-depth experience with java script, python & python tools required.
- Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decision-making, highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Design, run, and analyze the results of A/B tests of new search or recommendation algorithms and strategies; we also develop new testing and test analysis methodologies.
- KPI reporting and monitoring; this includes anomaly detection tools and advanced measurement approaches.
- Exploratory data analysis (e.g. clustering/segmentation) to generate new insights & inform our product roadmaps.
- Use and develop our in-house automated tools; for instance, we have created a QA tool to better understand the performance of our new algorithms before A/B testing them.
- Run open-ended exploratory data analysis to identify new ideas and opportunities
- Design and run A/B tests of our latest search or recommended algorithms
- Proactively monitor our algorithmic models to identify potential issues, determine root causes, and resolve them.
- Build new tools that allow us to be more productive and efficient
- Work closely and build productive relationships with our product, engineering, and machine learning stakeholders.
- Proactively identify areas where advanced analytical efforts can produce a strong value add and work them into the roadmap.
- Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization
