POSITION SUMMARY

Appointments to the faculty of The University of Alabama are based on the personnel requirements of the University’s academic programs and on the goal of achieving and maintaining excellence in its teaching, research, and service/academic citizenship activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in educational research or in a related field with a specialization in qualitative methods (i.e., 18 hours of graduate-level qualitative coursework);
• Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methods and educational research design;
• Evidence of ability to conduct research leading to publication;
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level(s);
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness;
• Ability to teach introductory qualitative research courses and a course related to qualitative case study;
• Ability to work with students and faculty in a variety of disciplines;
• Excellent writing and communication skills; and
• Demonstrated commitment to valuing varieties of perspectives, communities, and identities in research and teaching.
