The Division of Juvenile Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Education Coordinator position. This position is based out of the Department of Corrections Central Office located at 3099 East Washington Avenue, Madison, WI. This position also requires statewide travel.

Position Summary
This position will provide department and division wide administration, leadership, consultation and technical assistance for students with learning disabilities. The Special Education Coordinator works with institution and facility education teams to monitor compliance of state and federal requirements. Serves as a member of the Administrative Team working cooperatively with Education Directors in integrating and coordinating special education instruction and support-related services in accordance with the Department of Public Instruction requirements and the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-03 with pay starting from $54,787 to $90,396 .
Pay rates on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have: Experience providing leadership and guidance to students with learning disabilities. Experience coordinating special education activities across multiple programs. Developing and/or monitoring Individual Education Plans Coordinating special education instruction and support-related services to internal and external clients
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have: Experience managing grant funds Experience monitoring compliance to state and federal special education regulations Special Education certificate
