Description:

The Education Lead for Nursing and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) is primarily responsible for leading and managing the provision of professional and career development and training for health care support workers, nurses and AHPs across the organisation. This includes professional and managerial leadership of staff, effective governance systems for nursing and AHP educational standards are in place and supporting leaners in practice optimising the quality of staff, learners and service user’s experience. In addition the post holder will provide a visible and accessible senior professional presence across the organisation to which staff, service users and stakeholders can turn to for assistance.
Line management of the practice development team to set expectations and enable the delivery for education and training, professional development and career progression to remedy any gaps in services that contribute to patient care.
Implements the trust nursing strategy, organisational development plan, national Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health Care Professional Council education standards, HEE NHS Quality Agenda, and NHS Education Contract.
Review and introduce educational and training developing blended learning opportunities and resources for staff to promote staff patient care, professional, personal and service development.
Provide professional supervision for nursing and AHP staff and provide expert advice to other areas within the scope of professional and career development.
Provide visible leadership across professional boundaries to ensure undergraduate students and other clinical learners on placements within the Trust receive a high quality practice placement experience.
Provide specialist clinical knowledge across a range of procedures relating to nursing and AHP professional and educational standards, clinical career pipeline opportunities and leadership/talent management.
Leads the practice development team to develop the number and the quality of practice placements, including “Hub and Spoke” placements for the HEIs to access for student placement allocations
