Description:
Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is an independent, resident-based research institute devoted to foundational issues in theoretical physics at the highest levels of international excellence. Perimeter also trains the next generation of physicists through innovative programs and shares the excitement and wonder of science with students, teachers and the general public.
As a Program Manager for Educational Outreach you will play a lead role in the creation, delivery, budget, and measurement of Perimeter Institute’s outreach programing, effectively leading outreach personnel and external stakeholders within each program under their charge.
This position is being offered as a 16 month contract opportunity which includes salary, extended health insurance, paid vacation, time away from work and a flexible, dynamic work environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Completed post secondary education, Bachelor of Education is a valuable asset
- 3 years or more of experience in program or event management, in-class teaching experience will be considered especially valuable
- Proven success working in a dynamic, fast-paced team setting
- Demonstrated achievements in the development and delivery of large-scale programs
- Demonstrated ability in managing staff and volunteers and coordinating teachers, researchers, supplies and others
- Demonstrated achievements in project management, coordinating timelines, budgets and reporting
- Ability to lead internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive, creative, independent and highly organized
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to plan, schedule, budget and execute programs and/or events
- Proficient in Microsoft applications and contact management systems
- Experience or understanding of research/academic institutions will be considered a highly valuable asset, but is not required
