Description:
ARE YOU LOOKING TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR CAREER WORKING WITH CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES? IS INCLUSION IMPORTANT TO YOU?
The SEND EHCP Transitions team are seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Practitioner to join this new and exciting team!
The role involves working closely with educational settings, families and professionals to provide high-quality targeted support and direct intervention ahead of key transition points for children and young people with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), starting from Key Stage 2, up to Key Stage 4 and above.
You will be passionate about obtaining children and young people’s voice, using creative resources to engage them in conversation around transitions and next steps, including preparation for adulthood. You will be advocating for children and young people, and their families, and ensuring that they are at the centre of planning and reviews carried out by the service.
You will be working as part of a new and exciting team, alongside experienced professionals including Advisors, SENCo’s and Assessment and Planning colleagues to improve outcomes for children and young people.
The EHCP Transitions team works countywide; however, we are looking to recruit in the Hastings area ideally. Your preference for area-based working will be discussed at interview.
We are looking for applicants who:
- Have experience of supporting children and/or young people with a range of additional needs and those with EHCPs.
- Can develop and deliver appropriate programmes for children and young adults in conjunction with setting staff
- Can apply a wide range of approaches to work with children and young adults and their families.
- Are self-motivated, creative, and have strong organisational skills to effectively manage their workload.
- Can build positive working relationships with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
What we can offer you:
In addition to opportunities to grow your career within our team, we offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment, which include:
- Regular CPD opportunities
- A generous leave entitlement which increases with length of service, with the option to purchase additional leave
- Access to financial wellbeing resources and products
- A wide selection of discounts with high street retailers, holiday companies and more
- The choice to be a member of the attractive Local Government Pension Scheme
Please read our help applying for jobs pages carefully. They give you all the guidance you need to complete your application as well as information on what will happen after you’ve submitted your application and at interview.
As part of your application, you will need to complete your education and work history and upload a supporting statement, showing how you meet the essential criteria within the job description and job specification. Your supporting statement is the most important part of your application as it will be used in the shortlisting process to determine if you will be invited to attend an interview.
Interviews are scheduled for Thursday 02 May 2024 and will be in the form of a face-to-face interview, followed by a task. This will be in County Hall, Lewes.
We can offer you opportunities to grow your career within our team and regular CPD opportunities. We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
