Description:

WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE LOOK LIKE

  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or another relevant discipline.
  • Currently have a NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer), a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional, CRST (Certified Registered Safety Technician), or CHSC (Certified Health and Safety Consultant)
  • Five (5) or more years of Health & Safety experience, preferably in the engineering, architecture, or construction industry.
  • Experience conducting internal and or external EHS audits, Strong communication skills, ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience supporting both Canada and the US.
  • Knowledge of the CNSC requirements related to sealed source nuclear gauges.
  • Extensive knowledge of H&S management systems and their implementation within a site/construction setting.
  • Ability to independently assess the functional performance of a safety management system and develop implementation gap closure plans.
  • Excellent knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and local health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine, measure, analyze and report upon key EHS data.
  • Develop goals, dashboards, and metrics to track effectiveness and address areas of improvement.
  • Develop and implement Safety and Health policies, procedures, and activities.
  • Identify, hire, and manage the required resources to implement the EHS strategy across various regions of the organization.
  • Oversee incident reporting for the organization and contribute expertise to investigations and corrective actions.
  • Provide oversight of incident investigations and corrective actions; ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented to prevent future reoccurrence.
  • Assist in maintaining regional certification processes (such as ISO, COR, etc.)
  • Provide input and review of EHS data in the bid process and participate in pursuit meetings as required.
  • Partner with the operations teams to evaluate EHS requirements and look for opportunities to continually improve overall safety.
  • Participate and provide expertise to internal safety committees.
  • Monitor and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and stay informed of changes concerning health and safety regulations; keep necessary leaders informed of changes impacting their business.Actively promote and support the health and safety programs at project sites
