EXPERIENCE

• Maintain and improve management systems to ensure the site is operated in a manner which meets all Safety and Environmental standards.
• Actively participate as a member of site EHS committees and other workgroups as required.
• Lead a safety culture on site centred on behaviour-based safety.
• Continuously reinforce safety on site and ensure it has a high profile.
• Ensure that plant personnel adhere to safe work practices and to standard operating procedures.
• Develop and lead EHS initiatives across the site.
• Monitor compliance with all relevant EHS legislation and other EHS requirements.
• Act as backup for the EHS Manager in their absence.
• Review all projects during their life cycle to integrate EHS requirements.
• Lead EHS improvement project/initiates from concept through implementation to completion.
• Work with contractors on site to ensure that they are aware of and in compliance with site rules and policies.

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:

• Ideal: Chemical/Process Engineering degree would be a distinct advantage with recognized formal Environment, Health and Safety qualification.
• Minimum: Good knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 norms / certification and related management systems. Experience of behaviour-based safety. Experience:
• Ideal: 2 to 5 years EHS experience particularly in pharmaceutical industry.
