We, at Leggett & Platt Flooring Products, are searching for an EHS Manager to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities at our Morris, IL branch. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. This role provides the opportunity for diverse responsibilities every day in our manufacturing setting. The EHS Manager will lead and ensure compliance with Branch and Corporate policies and procedures, and compliance with all government mandated regulations.

Responsibilities:

SO, WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS AN EHS MANAGER?

  • Manage, train, maintain supplies, and complete reports for all safety related policies and procedures
  • Maintain written safety programs and other security issues
  • Perform and/or coordinate all safety inspections and conduct accident/loss investigations
  • Mitigate risk by seeking ways to eliminate or lessen safety concerns proactively
  • Work closely with Corporate and Division Environmental, Health, and Safety contacts
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings
  • Maintain OSHA logbooks
  • Oversee compliance with permit regulations
  • Arrange for disposal of hazardous waste
  • Evaluate plant waste streams
  • Manage Corrective Action Requests and Preventative Action Requests
  • Other duties as assigned

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct effective meetings by developing and following an agenda
  • Well organized, detail oriented and good computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Management or leadership experience in an EHS role
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EHS laws and regulations
  • Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
