Description:
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- E&I Trades qualification as a minimum – licensed Electrician and Certificate in Instrumentation
- Chemical/ Major Hazards Facility experience will be beneficial
- Experience in troubleshooting and rectification of E&I related faults
- Experience with DCS systems is preferred but not essential
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) industry training would be favourable
- Ability to read and understand electrical and instruments schematic drawings, data sheets etc. and manage technical documentation related to E&I and maintenance record keeping
- Understanding of process safety fundamentals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of hazardous area classification; certification for working on Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas would be favourable
- Understanding of Australian and international standards related to selection, installation, and maintenance of E&I assets
Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE
We are currently seeking an Electrical, Instrument and Control System Specialist for a permanent opportunity based at our Botany manufacturing plant. This is an on-site role working at one of our critical plants to Ixom’s overall operations.
In this autonomous role, you will join our ANZ maintenance team and provide specialised electrical, instrumentation and control systems technical advice and support to internal and external Botany plant stakeholders. A key component of this role is the ability to manage your own work and your own E,I&CS outcomes.
This role is a Monday-Friday day shift with the opportunity for flexibility.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying out maintenance of Control Systems and E&I assets, including HV/ LV reticulation, MCCs, Motors, VFDs, Controllers, field instruments for process control (pressure, level, temperature and flow measurement, analysers, and control devices), HMIs, PLCs etc.
- Managing the PM schedules, Work Orders, Spare Parts, Timesheets, Assets etc. using CMMS
- Troubleshooting and rectification of E&I related faults
- Managing spare parts inventory and procurement of required spares as well as technical documentation related to E&I and maintenance record keeping
- Proposing and carrying out modifications related to safety, reliability, or obsolescence, while complying to MOC process and complying to site process safety fundamentals
- Carrying out any assigned safety actions, E&I incident investigations, training, MOCs etc.
- Procuring necessary E&I equipment as part of breakdown maintenance or tackling obsolescence
- Support Lead Electrical Engineer in the management, guidance, training and quality assurance of third party contractors and E&I tradespersons
- Supporting, as required, Lead Electrical Engineer to develop life cycle maintenance programs for the E&I assets and Projects team with projects scope preparation, technical evaluation, installation, and commissioning works
- Support process and engineering for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), associated Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
