Description:

The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C), Credit & Climate Risk Department (CCRD), Climate-related and Environmental Risks Unit (CERU) at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st September/October 2024)
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Final year of studies or University degree in IT engineering, mathematic, business administration, economics and/or finance, environmental science or any related subject.
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel, with a good knowledge of Macros);
- Experience with Python/VBA and database tools such as Access/SAS would be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Your main tasks will be:
- Assist in the enhancement of the climate risk score card, which assesses the vulnerability of the bank’s clients to transition and physical risks;
- Assist in the development of the biodiversity risk assessment methodology;
- Perform statistical analyses as needed, and assist the more senior colleagues in the various initiatives to better integrate climate & environmental risks into the Bank’s risk frameworks;
- Support the development and improvement of procedures, support and control systems, IT systems, methodologies and working tools in relation to the Climate Risk Initiative.
- Perform market research, follow industry best practice
