Description:

The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C), EIB Group Model Validation Division (VAL) at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st September/October 2024)
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
- Final year of studies or University degree in a Quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Finance;
- Interest in financial applications.
- A previous traineeship or other experience in a financial institution would be an advantage;
- Strong computer programming skills in at least one of the following Python/R/Matlab/Java/C(++);
- Prior experience in data sourcing and manipulation using SQL;
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French; Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Your main tasks will be:
- Support the model validation officers in designing and implementing tools for the automation of reporting or quantitative analysis tasks;
- Assist the team in performing its data analysis activities (eg. data preparation / cleansing; tests of hypothesis, back-testing, benchmarking, robustness/stability analysis);
- Conduct a literature survey on the relevant subject, where needed.
