Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Property Officer plays an important role in the delivery of the Courts’ national property and accommodation initiatives, including the delivery of capital works projects the provision of advice to internal and external stakeholders and the management of outsourced property services contracts. The role also requires direct contact with judges of both the Federal Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
The position of Property Projects Officer reports to the Assistant Director of Property and is responsible for the delivery of the Entity’s national property and accommodation initiatives with respect to the project management of building construction, fit out alterations and relocations as required by the Entity’s property related capital works program.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or extensive senior level experience in a relevant field e.g. Property/Facilities Management/Project Management.
  • Industry recognised course in Building/Facilities Management or related discipline. (TAFE, Tertiary or Property Council).

Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of a range of property services including the management of capital works projects.
  • Preparation of project briefs for internal clients, architects and services consultants.
  • Identify, develop, implement and manage project risk and incident registers.
  • Analyse, develop, design, and implement project plans for agreed projects.
  • Provide regular project progress status and financial reports and prepare, review and present project board papers, reports, briefing notes, submissions, and other correspondence.
  • Provide guidance, consulting, negotiating and networking, internally, with the judiciary, senior managers, and general staff of the organisation, and externally, with property professionals, consultants and other government agencies on property and accommodation matters to facilitate informed business decisions that improve business processes and meet changing and challenging business needs.
  • Prepare tender documentation and obtain approvals for project works related to architects, engineers, construction, signage, furniture and other capital works accordance with Commonwealth Procurement rules and FCA Entity procurement procedures.
  • Review variations and additional works for approval as provided under the contracts and in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement rules and FCA Entity procurement procedures.
  • Assist in the tendering process of property projects including documentation, evaluation and recommendation for preferred vendors and required services.
  • Managing contractors, consultants and other industry professionals in the provision of services to the FCA Entity.
  • Provide section administration including invoicing, facilities management activities, section accruals and assistance with AGPR and other property related requests and
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes and standards.
