Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced leader to join the Federal Court of Australia’s IT team.
The role will oversee the coordination and management of a new Cloud Platform Team, with a focus on the delivery of Microsoft Azure-based services to a diverse range of systems. The role will include a key focus on objectives aligned to the court’s Digital Court Program, which is progressively modernising a suite of critical business applications with a focus on efficiency and quality service provision.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Program Manager – Digital Court Program, the Cloud Platform Lead is responsible for oversight of the establishment of a new Cloud Platform team at the courts. The role will be responsible for ensuring for the delivery of strategic Cloud initiatives to support the Digital Court Program (DCP), as well as wider Cloud adoption. The role will be required to link strategic planning to practical action, as well as ensuring widespread improvements to Cloud maturity. Responsibilities include:
- Working with technical and leadership teams, oversee the establishment and operation of a new Cloud Platform Team, ensuring that required capacity and capabilities are identified, developed, and maintained.
- Working with DCP staff and IT stakeholders, contribute to the design, development and technical implementation of a range of Microsoft Azure and related Cloud systems, in alignment with new and existing governance arrangements.
- Convey complex technical concepts to broad audiences to ensure that critical cost, risk and sustainability measures are communicated and agreed.
- Ability to iterate and work flexibly to ensure that strategy and focus adapt to suit changing circumstances.
Selection Criteria
- High-level leadership skills, including experience leading a team in the development and delivery of complex technical and strategic objectives.
- Experience with Microsoft-based Cloud environments, and the design of robust, practical and supportable solutions.
- Experience in cyber security best practice, including compliance with Whole of Australian Government standards.
- High-level communication skills, including the ability to persuasively communicate complex concepts to a range of audiences.
- The IT Division is geographically dispersed and experience in working in such teams is essential.
Other Requirements
Relevant industry or tertiary qualifications in IT would be well regarded.
