ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Director Property Management helps lead the development and implementation of the agency’s property strategy while also overseeing leasing, fit out projects and facilities management.
The successful candidate will assist the Director of Property by delivering the capital works associated with the ACIC’s national accommodation strategy. This involves managing a range of stakeholders including: end users, landlords, external agencies, consultants and head contractors to deliver a program of works.
There will be some interstate travel associated with this role. APS experience is not essential.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Experience in a senior property role, including experience in delivering capital works projects within Government and the ability to supervise a property management team in the delivery of services.
  • Technical knowledge in the fields of construction, design, trades, commercial leasing, facilities management or architecture will be advantageous.
  • Highly-developed interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills to a high standard.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and a proven ability to bring a positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets.
  • Sound judgement, a high level of initiative, flexibility and the ability to set the direction for a team.
  • Awareness of Commonwealth procurement processes
