THE ROLE

Workplace relations is a dynamic policy area, which is frequently at the forefront of national policy debates. We have policy responsibility for the minimum terms and conditions of employment through the National Employment Standards, modern awards and protections against termination, discrimination and harassment that cover the employment of millions of employees and employers across Australia, with a particular focus on women, casuals and part-time workers.
We provide whole of government advice on the intersection of employment conditions with skills, training and education, discrimination and superannuation, as well as targeted measures to boost the participation of jobseekers and indigenous Australians. We represent Australia internationally and work closely with unions and employer associations to improve the working conditions for workers in our region.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Executive Level 1 officers to assist with leading the development of these meaningful reforms and supporting their delivery.
