Description:
Direct planning, design, and studies, coordinate engineering work activities within and outside the utility; advise staff on distribution, transmission, and substations and conduct special studies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 7 years related experience and/or training.
- 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct the activities of all engineering personnel assigned to this organizational unit.
- Direct preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects.
- Establish staff priorities, providing guidance and direction on technical aspects of work.
- Provide technical support for system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs.
- Manage long-range planning activities of both internal projects and consultants including studies of service expansion requirements and their associated impact.
- Manage the development and maintenance of the electric distribution model. Review and evaluate current system data and trends.
- Facilitate the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); assist with future growth studies, rate evaluation, and annual budget requirements.
- Coordinate processes through various governmental agencies concerning utility facilities.
- Represent the Company through business meetings with regulatory agencies, contractors, customers, and intradepartmental meetings.
- Advise the Manager, Engineering and Planning on all activities occurring under supervision.
