Electric Systems Senior Engineer

Direct planning, design, and studies, coordinate engineering work activities within and outside the utility; advise staff on distribution, transmission, and substations and conduct special studies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 7 years related experience and/or training.
• 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1. Manage and direct the activities of all engineering personnel assigned to this organizational unit.
2. Direct preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects.
3. Establish staff priorities, providing guidance and direction on technical aspects of work.
4. Provide technical support for system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs.
5. Manage long-range planning activities of both internal projects and consultants including studies of service expansion requirements and their associated impact.
6. Manage the development and maintenance of the electric distribution model. Review and evaluate current system data and trends.
7. Facilitate the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); assist with future growth studies, rate evaluation, and annual budget requirements.
8. Coordinate processes through various governmental agencies concerning utility facilities.
9. Represent the Company through business meetings with regulatory agencies, contractors, customers, and intradepartmental meetings.
10. Advise the Manager, Engineering and Planning on all activities occurring under supervision.
