We’re partnering with an Electrical Engineering firm renowned for their end-to-end solutions in network and utility connections. With a track record spanning over two decades, they specialize in designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical networks with a focus on safety, security, and cost-effectiveness.

As the 132kV Design Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass producing both preliminary and detailed engineering designs, spanning from LV up to 132kV. Your tasks will include:

• Generating preliminary and detailed engineering designs ranging from LV to 132kV.
• Collaborating with DNO/IDNO for design approval.
• Spearheading customer management throughout the design process.
• Estimating project costs and compiling reports.
• Procuring technical or major procurement item quotations.
• Mentoring junior team members and ensuring the quality of their work.
• Verifying the quality and technical aspects of work produced by team members.

This role primarily focuses on producing electrical designs within the 11kV-33kV range, with knowledge of 132kV designs considered advantageous. You’ll play a crucial role in liaising with customers, DNOs, and construction teams to facilitate smooth design approval and construction processes. Experience in assisting construction teams in interpreting designs and conducting quality audits will be essential.
Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for training other members of the electrical design team, ensuring the quality of their work, and providing initial sign-off. Additionally, you’ll contribute to business development activities for new projects as required by the commercial team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A highly motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical Distribution Design up to and including 132kV, or extensive specialist experience within LV and 33kV.
• Hold a Degree/HND level qualification in a relevant Engineering subject.
• Proficient in AutoCAD software and Windebut Software.
• Experience with ERACS or other Power system software.
• Hold a clean current driving licence.
