DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES

  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSWMS) and its application to Engineering Delegations and Risk Levels.
  • Knowledge of Submarines or the Shipbuilding engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technically challenging electrical design and drafting tasks which demonstrate knowledge of engineering fundamentals;
  • Undertake detail design activities from assembly to system level, production of electrical drawing outputs such as Cable Block Diagrams, Schematics, Connection details and Cable Installation data.
  • Selection of electrical components suitable for installation and manufacture
  • Provide input to technical decisions that are safe, practical and suitable for implementation;
  • Provide support to disciplines within and departments outside of Engineering to deliver engineering products and services
  • Conduct business in a professional manner with minimal supervision
