Aviya has an opening for an Electrical/Electronics Engineer - Obsolescence to join our engineering group in Longueuil, Quebec.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Strong technical background in electronics.
  • 2+ years of pertinent experience in Engineering/Operations linked to Electronics components.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Obsolescence management is an asset.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Autonomous, organized, and efficient.
  • Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
  • Willing to occasionally travel to support our worldwide supply base.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering liaison and technical expertise to mitigate obsolescence risks and manage associated projects to prevent impact to material flow.
  • Lead various activities to help improve the overall Obsolescence Management Process. Governance and associated technical coordination to mitigate the risks.
  • Develop a strong network with our numerous worldwide suppliers, along with multiple internal organizations (Engineering, Inspection, Configuration Management, Quality, Lab, Procurement, etc.).
  • Perform supplier obsolescence risk surveys and reports.
  • Evaluate supplier’s risk mitigation proposals (Engineering Change vs. Last Time Buy).
  • Plan and coordinate the execution of Engineering Changes (obsolete part replacement).
  • Leverage Engineering and Supplier networks to help drive various obsolescence technical issues to closure.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives on the Electronic Obsolescence Management Process.
