Description:

Adecco is currently hiring an Electrical Engineer for our reputable client in Ottawa, ON. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and enthusiastic, ready to contribute to the ongoing operation and maintenance of a significant infrastructure project in the nation’s capital. This permanent position will report directly to the Engineering Director, requiring applicants to thrive in a dynamic work environment that prioritizes safety, service, quality, motivation, and teamwork, particularly in a start-up setting.

Please note that this is an on-site position in Ottawa, and candidates residing outside the Ottawa area will need to relocate for the role.

  • Pay rate: $110,000/year
  • Location: Ottawa, ON.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary technical resource for systems assets related to rail transit system power supply and distribution, industrial control and automation systems (SCADA and PLC), stray current management and energy use management.
  • Converse effectively regarding these systems with both technical and non-technical persons.
  • Develop and document preventive maintenance programs and maintenance procedures consistent with the requirements of O&M manuals, applicable regulation, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with the requirements of the project agreement.
  • Support development and optimization of corrective maintenance practices.
  • Provide technical input to preventive and corrective maintenance strategy discussions.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to the maintenance and operations teams.
  • Conduct performance audits of the maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical oversight of in-house resources and contractors tasked with the maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Investigate technical issues and/or support maintenance teams in the field.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with electrical supply/distribution systems, with preference given to experience on a rail transit project.
  • Experience with OT networks and communication systems is an asset.
  • Experience managing projects through their full lifecycle.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency with Excel.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong technical and procedural writing skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
