ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Post electrical trade qualifications, preferably Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Advanced Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) skills using AutoCAD and/or Microstation, and related software tools such as Revit and Vault.
• Extensive experience in the design and drafting of HV electrical substations and components. (Preferably 3 - 5 years)
• Proven ability to complete detailed design as a team member under direction and as an individual with direct responsibility for the design.
• Familiar with the apparatus and equipment used on the Sub-transmission and Distribution networks and the design philosophies employed.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and standard Engineering Drafting practices.
• Able to interpret design drawings from other disciplines such as Civil, Structural and Secondary.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the production of detailed electrical layout drawings for zone and sub transmission substations throughout the network.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Work closely with Primary Design Engineers in the development and ultimate issuing of design solutions for construction.
• Be responsible for certain elements of the overall design solution.
• Develop and coordinate detailed electrical design drawings for substation high voltage systems meeting time, cost & quality constraints.
• Take responsibility for the safety hazards within the resultant design solutions through the consideration of safety throughout the design process.
