Experience, Technical Skills, and Attributes:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Engineer in Training (EIT Certification) preferred with ability or intentions to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous leadership experience as either a technical leader or project manager of mid-scale projects preferred
  • Experience using ETAP or SKM to perform short circuit, coordination and arc-flash studie

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The primary focus of the work will be to design electrical systems and industrial controls to support water and wastewater treatment plans, pumping stations, distribution and collection systems as well as architecture and transportation projects. This will include industrial design as well as vertical building systems. You will also hold some project management responsibilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the electrical design team on projects from the pre-schematic phase through the development of Construction Documents
  • Apply established Electrical Engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems, facilities, or processes
  • Continue to develop strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, design techniques and procedures
  • Conduct project related site surveys to confirm existing conditions and gather project data.
  • Conduct Power System Analyses (Coordination and Arc-flash studies) and sizing of electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate with utility companies to design new site electrical services and equipment and installation requirements.
  • Develop motor and PLC control wiring diagrams, SCADA system architecture, performance, and electrical technical specifications,
  • Perform independent engineering calculations and complete shop drawing reviews
  • Develop Construction cost estimates and sequences of construction.
  • Complete project bid phase and construction: respond to RFI’s, prepare addenda, construction site inspections, and review change orders.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Interns, EIT’s, junior engineers and support staff
  • Support PM’s with proposals, work plan development, coordinate multi-discipline projects and requirements, monitor schedules and budgets, attend meetings
  • Perform QA/QC procedures and enforce quality control procedures throughout project development.
  • Assure compliance with corporate procedures relevant to project design and implementation.
  • Actively participate in corporate seller-doer efforts
