Electrical Engineer

Howdens are recruiting Electrical Engineers based at Howdens Work Surfaces, our solid surfaces production facility in Normanton, Wakefield. This role will provide breakdown, preventative maintenance cover and installation work throughout the site.
The successful candidate will have completed an engineering apprenticeship and possess a background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, with experience in a proactive safety environment.
Pay rate: £47,332 + monthly production bonus
Shift pattern: 3 week rolling shift pattern, days and nights. Every Saturday off. For each three-week block, 11 days in work, 10 days off

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Fault finding, corrective actions and root cause analysis
• Control and automation systems
• Working with computerised maintenance management systems
• Must be able to work under pressure especially when breakdowns arise and production levels are high

• Proactive and preventative maintenance
• Reactive breakdown maintenance
• Continual improvement projects
• Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
• Supporting and engaging with lean manufacturing techniques to work effectively with PLC programmes
